Studer acquires Combitec 03/11/2008
 
Switzerland-based grinding specialist Fritz Studer AG, Thun, has acquired Combitec AG, also of Switzerland, Biel.

Combitec, which employs 40, specialises in internal cylindrical grinding, while Studer offers both external and internal cylindrical grinding technology. Studer employs 800 people in Thun and is a member of Körber Group’s Schleifring family of companies.

The Combitec manufacturing facility in Biel will become the internal grinding competence centre of the merged activity and will remain under the management of previous owner Daniel Huber.

The internal grinding specialist will benefit from Fritz Studer’s worldwide distribution network.
