Smartload addition to Studer S33 offering and other improvements

The S33 universal cylindrical grinding is now offering with the workpiece handling system, smartLoad. This based on the successful easyLoad concept with workpieces being fed by a single-arm gripper. The loader suits workpieces of up to 300 mm length and 100 mm diameter. The gripper diameter is maximum 60 mm. For workpieces of up to 38 mm diameter the conveyor belt can accommodate 36 pieces. The changeover times are below 15 seconds. The smartLoad concept has got the full functionality of a gantry loading system and fits in the compact enclosure of the S33.
Other improvements include the "fast move" system that provides two electronic handwheels for easy and efficient machine operation. Due to the movable operating panel, the S33 can be operated like a conventional machine. Additional devices such as the Sensitron 6 and in-process gauging have been integrated into the machine design and the operating panel has been given a facelift and is more ergonomic.
