Bowers Metrology Intex range shopfloor-proof comparator gauges are designed for the accurate in-process measurement of large internal and external diameters on components that are located within machine tools. They are described as ideal for gauging parts such as aerospace engine rings and seals.
Based on a rigid, hollow aluminium extruded beam, rendering the new instruments lighter, stronger and more accurate than traditional beam gauges, means that their potential for thermal expansion, deflection and inducing operator fatigue is considerably reduced.
Available in sizes from 200-1,000mm, with larger models available on application, the Intex range can be fitted with a wide selection of contact points, enabling awkward features such as grooves and undercuts to be easily accessed. The new Bowers gauges are can be supplied fitted with either a traditional analogue or a digital indicator with the ability to send gathered data ‘wirelessly’ to data collection devices, printers, etc.
