Mazak machine wins award 03/10/2008

Yamazaki Mazak’s Integrex i-150 has received the prestigious 38th Machinery Industrial Design Award Grand Prix, sponsored by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, the largest industrial newspaper in Japan.

The Integrex i-150 machines parts from 65 mm bar or from billets up to 200 mm in diameter, and the panel of judges was reportedly impressed by the Integrex i-150’s combination of hardware and software. The machine features enhanced conversational programming from the Mazatrol Matrix CNC, while the new Intelligent Functions provide improved operator-friendliness, safety and reliability. The machine was first introduced at EMO 2007.

Speaking at the presentation, Yamazaki Mazak Corporation president, Mr Tomohisa Yamazaki, said: “To be globally competitive, differentiating our products by unique machine design, including features for ease of operation, becomes more and more important. By continuing to develop products with outstanding design that provides added value, we would like to make our best efforts to win our 4th Machine Industrial Design Award in the future.”
