Warwick Machine Tools picks up Bermaq agency 03/10/2008

Warwick Machine Tools has been appointed the UK agents for the model, pattern and non-ferrous machining centre range from Bermaq of Spain.

This range of high performance multi axis machining centres has been specifically designed for contouring, drilling, modelling and carving to provide solutions in a wide variety of industries, including mould making, marine, aerospace, rail and stage design.

There are fives machine designs – CR, FCN, SG, Euro-PX and Link.

With spindle speeds up to 40,000 rpm, the CR milling machine range is designed for cutting non-ferrous materials, such as aluminium, polystyrene, resin and fibres at high speed.

Available as 3-, 4- or 5-axis, the travelling gantry design and modular construction of the FCN range allows the machine to be adapted to suit the customers’ needs. Ideally matched for nesting components from metal plate, aluminium profiles and plasterboard panel cutting, the machine’s envelope can be specified between 3100 mm and 15,000 mm in X, 1500 to 4500 mm in Y and 250 to 600 mm in the vertical Z-axis. Rapid traverse rates are 60 m/min in X and Y, 30 m/min in Z.

The SG range uses a moving bridge construction, with elevated linear drive and guide systems to keep the working area completely clear. Specifically designed for milling soft materials such as polystyrene, resins and fibres at high speeds, these machine tools are suited to pattern production and workpiece contouring for the marine, automotive, aerospace and railway sectors.

For high speed machining of medium-sized parts in wood, resin and polystyrene the Euro-PX is the choice. The machine’s cantilever design and 3500 by 1500 mm low bed make loading and unloading the Euro-PX easy.

The new Link range (pictured) is a fully enclosed machining centre that can be specified as 3- or 5-axis for the high speed of machining engineering plastics.

Bermaq also designs and manufactures bespoke machining solutions.
