Coventry-based Dorman Machinery has been appointment sole UK distributor for the Gerber range of polishing and deburring machines.
One of the main applications for Gerber technology is the edge preparation, deburring and polishing of all types of cutting tool inserts. Its clients include Ceratizit, Sandvik, P Horn, Sumitomo, Iscar, and Kennametal.
Gerber’s focus is on the generation and subsequent polishing of radii, chamfers and recesses on components made from ultra-hard materials and it has designed special-purpose machines for the manufacture of indexable cutting tool inserts.
Apart from insert production, Gerber machines are also used for the manufacture of valve plates, pump components and rotors.
