Short, stable 45 deg turning holders August 2008

The Walter Turn 45 deg tooling system comprises a number of 45 deg turning holders for ISO indexable inserts, featuring a Capto interface in sizes C5 and C6. Additionally, with an available adaptor, they suit HSK, BT and CAT-type spindles.

A main benefit of 45 deg holders is their short, stable design enabling flexibility of workpiece approach where axial or radial holder designs cannot be used and they also reduced the danger of chuck collisions.

Negative inserts are clamped using a rigid top clamp; positive inserts via screw clamping. Both clamping systems offer improved tool life and ‘secure’ productivity.
