£12,000 manual/CNC lathe debuts at XYZ Open Days 19/08/2008

The XYZ ProTURN ELX 1440 manual/CNC lathe will have its first UK showing at XYZ Machine Tools’ Devon Open Days (8-9 October 2008).

The £12,000 ProTURN ELX 1440 5 hp/2400 rpm lathe is equipped with the new entry-level ProtoTRAK ELX control system that, as is the case with the equivalent EMX control system fitted to the EMX series turret mill, has the look and feel of a digital readout while providing a productivity-boosting CNC capability.

Other XYZ manual/CNC turning and milling machines designed for prototype and low-volume production applications are equipped with the top-of-the-range ProtoTRAK SLX and SMX control systems that also feature easy to use ‘plain English prompts’ and high quality graphics.

As well as demonstrations of a wide range of machine tools, visitors to XYZ’s HQ are invited to tour the Burlescombe factory and to meet members of the team that builds, installs, commissions and services the company’s marketing-leading products.

There is also the option of attending any of the Open Days scheduled for XYZ’s other showrooms in Blackburn (15-16 October), Nuneaton (5-6 November) and London–Waltham Abbey (12-13 November).

On display, too, will be machine tools designed for larger volume requirements, such as XYZ Mini Mills, XYZ VMCs (including the XYZ 1060 HS high speed model) and XYZ ‘extra large’ lathes (up to 2.5 m swing by 12 m bed length), all equipped as standard with Siemens ShopMill and ShopTurn conversational CNC systems.

There’s no need to book, but anyone requesting further information about the XYZ Open Days should note that the XYZ telephone number is now 01823 674200.
