Flexible universal ID/OD grinding machines July 2008

The Kel-Vita range of cost-effective universal ID/OD grinding machines is aimed at customers machining parts up to 1,000 mm in length. Features are numerous wheelhead configurations, low friction linear rails and a newly-developed CNC control.

Three models, the Kel-Vita 600, 800 and 1000 (indicating between-centre capacity in millimeters), all have a centre height of 175 mm.

Manufacturing flexibility is the an important selling point and machines can be customised and configured to specific requirements. For example, eight different grinding wheelhead types can be selected. UR and URS wheelheads feature a swivelling design with two external (and one internal) grinding wheels.

The machines are capable of performing multiple processes, including external diameters, opposed faces, bores, tapers, polygons, tapered non-rounds and thread grinding -- all in a single chucking.
