Driven tooling range for single set-up machining of complex parts July 2008

Algra range driven tooling units for CNC lathes is aimed at single set-up machining of complex components that may require milling, drilling and slotting operations.

Available from YMT Technologies Tooling Division, the Algra single driven tooling range offers axial or radial units (left- or right-hand) with coolant supplied internally, externally or both. And, a single tool unit with an adjustable angle head can be set ±90 deg of the centreline. The axial double-ended driven tool units feature external coolant supply only. Both the single and double-ended drives are available with ER 20, ER 25, ER 32 or ER40 collets.

High transmission ratios are available for both the single and double-ended units. These provide a four-to-one increase in the cutting speed of the tool to make the most of the high speed tooling and coating technologies.
