New CEO for GF AgieCharmilles 21/07/2008

Michael Hauser (pictured) will become CEO of Swiss machine tool builder GF AgieCharmilles as of August 1, 2008.

Mr Krebser, who is stepping down at his own request, will be taking over leadership of major projects in the strategic development of the corporation, particularly in Asia.

Mr Hauser, previously head of the Milling division as well as marketing and sales support at GF AgieCharmilles, successfully drove the expansion of milling machine business in recent years.

Since completing his business studies at universities in Munich and Mannheim in 1988, he has held various management posts in tool manufacturing companies, which included four years in Italy. In 1996 he took over management of the Milling Machine division at the former Mikron Group, which was acquired by GF AgieCharmilles in 2000.

In 2004 Mr Hauser was promoted to head the Milling division and marketing and sales support department at GF AgieCharmilles.

The new CEO is also the president of machine tool professional group SWISSMEM as well as member of the board of directors at the European Committee for Co-operation of the Machine Tool Industries (CECIMO).
