Wenzel Group makes strategic acquisitions 08/07/2008

Wenzel Group has announced two acquisitions as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The two companies are Knotenpunkt GmbH and Volumetrik GmbH. Wenzel already works with the first, using its Shapetracer non-contact laser scanning head and PointMaster software in reverse engineering applications on its CMMs.

By integrating Wenzel's existing DesCAD into PointMaster, the company now covers scanning through to milling in single package.

“By the strategic acquisition of this reverse engineering technology provider Knotenpunkt, Wenzel extends it’s leading position as a provider of design systems for the recording and processing of surfaces,” said Frank Wenzel, managing director, Wenzel Group.

Volumetrik GmbH is a specialist in developing CT (computer tomography), which makes possible contactless 3D measurement of inner and outer structures in a range of materials.
