Horn doubles capacity 23/06/2008

Paul Horn GmbH in Tubingen, Germany has completed a new factory extension adjacent to the existing building, adding 5,500 m2 of manufacturing area.

The building represents an investment of €14 million while a further €26 million is being invested in new equipment and fitting out. In the medium term Paul Horn GmbH expects to create 250 additional jobs.

The move is not only about expansion, however. The company is also engaged in a massive program of reorganisation to optimise its manufacturing systems. This will involve relocation of existing plant and machinery as well as installation of new equipment.

Highlights will include a doubling of Horn's in-house coating facilities and installation of large vertical storage systems for tooling, work-in-progress and raw materials. The latter will free-up valuable floor space.

By completion of the project, later in 2008, Horn will have one of the most modern and efficient production facilities in Europe, capable of servicing the ever increasing world-wide demand for its products.

Horn S.A. sales revenues for 2007 grew by 28 per cent thanks to excellent performance in India and Russia as well as the USA and Europe
