Name change for Scotland Mazak agent 16/06/2008

Yamazaki Mazak’s longstanding partner in Scotland, McDowell Engineering Ltd, has undergone a change of name.

With immediate effect the new name of the company will be ScotMAZ, and in all other respects it will be business as usual. ScotMAZ managing director Scott Hunter said: “This change is a step forward for the business and will deliver a new and fresher image in keeping with the service that we provide for the sales and servicing of Mazak machines in Scotland.

“We have made major investments over the past few years in personnel, training, service equipment, new technology and a bespoke database. The new name and company image is the culmination of this process and the team here at ScotMAZ remains unchanged and will continue to provide the levels of service and support that our customers have grown to expect.”

The company has been the sole Scottish Agent for Mazak machine tools for over 25 years and since a management buyout in 2003 it has seen strong sales growth for the full range of machines available from Yamazaki Mazak.
