Universal gauge for measuring in the round June 2008

Bowers Metrology has designed a circular version of its Universal Gauge for the accurate diameter measurement of components such as large shafts, turbine components, jet engine features and many other parts containing obstructions such as bosses.

Modular construction allows the fitting of a large variety of measuring contacts and adapters so that countless measuring tasks can be completed with ease. Threads, grooves and many other previously difficult features can be measured using standard accessories.

Bowers Universal Gauge can be configured to measure either internally or externally. A constant pressure device ensures great accuracy and consistency of reading. The new gauge’s readings are displayed on a large format, easy to read digital display and, if required, can be downloaded via the unit’s built-in RS232 output.
