MACH prompts £1 million-plus orders for Hardinge 16/05/2008

Hardinge Group sold over £700,000 worth of machine tools and took and orders to the value of £150,000 worth for workholding products at MACH 2008 last month.

The company is also now actively following up the 250+ customer enquiries that were also generated during the MACH week. To date a further 12 machines (worth £650,000) have been sold as a direct result of the exhibition.

David Andrew, Hardinge's UK sales & marketing director, said: “MACH was a tremendous event for Hardinge. The interest shown by exhibition visitors to the new technology being showcased was particularly pleasing, with our new 5-axis machines (XR 300 5AX and XR 600 5AX - pictured), and our range of standard, performance and high-performance lathes and turning centres being, quite literally, the centres of attraction.

“Having said that it's fair to say that the full spectrum of our milling, turning and grinding portfolio of machine tools all generated significant interest - and the financial deals and packages we developed for MACH, in conjunction with Close Asset Finance, certainly attracted visitors onto our Stand and galvanised them during their time with us.”

Hardinge also used MACH to promote it's new sole agency agreement, only signed at the beginning of April 2008, with German machine tool manufacturer Matec Maschinenbau GmbH to sell and service the full range of Matec travelling column; mill-turn; gantry and multi/twin-pallet swivel table machines into the UK and Ireland.
