Upgraded Kennametal KC9225 inserts have a coating construction helps increase cutting speeds. Enhanced post-coat finishing processes reduce chip hammering and built-up edge conditions, extending tool life and preventing insert damage, particularly in applications demanding continuous to lightly interrupted cuts at high cutting speeds.

“The optimal combination of toughness and deformation resistance combined with sharper cutting edges should make KC9225 inserts the first choice for machining austenitic stainless steels, when machining at speeds in excess of 550 sfm,” says Kent Mizgalski, manager of Global Lathe Systems Engineering.
