Mori Seiki wins £3.8 million in orders at MACH 13/05/2008

Companies visiting the Mori Seiki stand at MACH - held last month at Birmingham's NEC - placed orders valued at £3.8 million.

The new customers ranged from small sub-contractors to blue-chip multi-nationals, many of whom were ordering additional machines based on the productivity and profitability achieved from previous investments in Mori Seiki.

One customer reported that his Mori Seiki NT, which was only installed in March, was already generating profits of £300 per hour.

Pure technology was the theme of the show for Mori Seiki. Advanced technology including DCG (Driven at the Centre of Gravity), DDMTM (Direct Drive Motor), ORCTM (Octagonal Ram Construction) and BMTTM (Built-in Motor Turret) combine to achieve very low levels of vibration and claimed unparalleled levels of rigidity and speed.

And it's technology that offers benefits. For example, a second customer cutting parts in Super Duplex, 100 mm diameter with a 5 mm wide insert with a requirement for parallelism of less than 10 µm, reported that he was experiencing problems with insert life. His existing machine, purchased from a major competitor to Mori Seiki, was only completing five components per insert. By manufacturing the same part on his recently installed Mori Seiki NL3000, insert life increased to an astonishing 70 components per insert - just one example of how Mori Seiki technology can improve productivity and profitability.

Mori Seiki has increased its range, offering Dixi machines to companies requiring exceptional levels of precision and, in addition, Tobler workholding solutions for locating and holding complex turned parts.

Mori Seiki also demonstrated its Mori Net system which monitors machine performance and provides remote diagnostics - feedback which will help users of its machine tools maximize productivity by ensuring their machine is operating at the peak of its capabilities at all times.
