Adjustable, indexable carbide drills for large holes April 2008

AMEC Revolution and Core drill ranges are adjustable indexable carbide drills, designed to produce high quality large diameter holes and deliver competitive cost per hole.

Revolution drills are designed to drill from solid with no pilot hole by using an ‘over-centre’ cutting geometry for the indexable carbide inserts and the single adjustable cartridge, which allows the diameter to be adjusted by up to 5.1 mm, giving a hole size range of 50.80 to 76.20 mm.

The Core drill’s primary application is to open out an existing pre-drilled pilot hole to a larger diameter in a single operation, quickly and efficiently. Using two or three adjustable cartridges, each holding either two or three indexable carbide inserts, the Core drill has a wide scope of adjustment from 50.80 to 63.50 mm on the smallest drill in the range and 104.65 to 142.75 mm on the largest. Larger diameter specials are also available from AMEC.
