Shopfloor CMM pioneer offers update 28/04/2008

Hexagon Metrology unveils its Sheffield Discovery III shopfloor CMM at MACH.

With the German ‘Control’ show starting just one day after MACH, quality technology exhibitors had more than the usual to show this year at MACH, as was the case with Hexagon Metrology.

A world launch on the first day saw the company reveal its shopfloor CMM, the Sheffield Discovery III. A range of three machines is offered, with working envelopes from 500 by 600 by 400 mm to 760 by 1,000 by 600 mm.

The original Sheffield Discovery pioneered the shopfloor CMM concept, claims Hexagon, and the new design advances this further offering higher accuracy, improved thermal performance and a new industrial design.
