CamPro software translates CAM tool paths for routing robots April 2008

KMT Robotic Solutions’ CamPro CADCAM allows manufacturers to program trim paths for routing robots in CAM software. Using an off-line programming tool increases productivity by separating a great majority of the programming time required from the actual machine. Off-line generated programs based on part data can result in more accurate programs than can be achieved with teach pendant based programming. The graphical simulation capability of CamPro also allows for the robot program to be checked off-line, identifying interference situations before they occur on the actual equipment.

All of this saves programmer’s time and results in more parts being made per hour so that these robotic routing systems can trim parts with up to 50 per cent higher throughput than traditional 5-axis CNC systems, while offering enhanced trimming flexibility and cost savings through increased productivity, uptime and safety.
