Dormer Tools wins quality award 06/04/2008

Dormer Tools has become the first rotary cutting tool company in the UK to receive a prestigious award in recognition of its business standards.

The company has received the European Foundation for Quality Management honour for its expertise as one of the world’s largest producers of solid carbide and high speed steel cutting tools.

The recognition will enable Dormer to work alongside some of the world’s leading organisations, particularly in the aerospace sector.

The EFQM Excellence Award is Europe's most prestigious award for organisational excellence - granted only to the continent’s best performing companies since 1992.

It recognises industry leaders with an undisputable track record of success in turning strategy into action and continuously improving their organisation's performance.

Dormer’s award follows an intensive two-day independent audit during which its locally based sales organisation was involved, as well as functions such as IT, Human Resources and Finance.

In giving the recognition, the independent auditors were particularly complimentary about Dormer’s customer focus, results orientation, people development and continuous learning.

Nick Garner, managing director at Dormer Tools, said: “This is a significant achievement for the company. It is another major step forward in ensuring Dormer Tools is working with some of the biggest names in engineering.

“We are the first cutting tool company in the UK to receive the award. It is validation that we have a company culture which strives for continuous improvement and people who show genuine commitment.”
