High productivity Fuji milling and turning robotised cell February 2008

Multi-featured shaft type or chucking style components requiring fully automated cycles involving turning, milling, boring, drilling and threading on components such as differential cases, wheel hubs, gear rings, rotors and pump housings can now be produced using Fuji Machine’s highly productive robotised cell.

The Fuji ANW + HM cell is configured using Fuji’s standard production modules including inlet work stockers, auxiliary loaders, gauging systems, orientation devices and outfeed conveyor systems. These field-proven elements, can all be integrated into a cell comprising the dual spindle, dual turret ANW lathe and HM four-axis milling centre. The HM unit provides a simultaneous milling capability while the ANW lathe performs the turning operations, using the flexibility of the optional all-driven six, 10 or 15 station turret, able to hold axial or radial approach toolholders.

Each machine within the cell has the benefit of an integrated 4-axis high speed swing arm robot to transport the part through a separate guarded enclosure during the machining cycle. Components flow through the cell from the raw material work stocker, through each machine spindle to final off-loading. Within the cycle of operations parts can be placed in peripheral devices such as a gauging station or re-gripping station according to process requirements.
