The 12 tool turret Monforts RNC400 turning centres, now available in the UK from Leader CNC, offer flexible packages to meet almost every users needs. Rigid and robust, the machines are available as ‘Single Turn’ 2-axis turn-only machines, ‘Multi-turn’ with driven tools and C axis, and ‘Duo Turn’ with a sub-spindle incorporating a radial tool turret and C axis. Other options include Y-axis, hard turn packages, automatic load and unload, and post process gauging stations.
The RNC400 has a turning length of 600 mm with a swing diameter over the bed of 420 mm. Other machines in the Monforts SingleTurn range cover component lengths from 250 to 1,500 mm with swing diameters from 300 to 720 mm. The RNC400 has a maximum bar capacity of 65 mm with 85 mm offered as an option. The RNC400 is available with Siemens or Fanuc control systems.
With rigidity built into every aspect of the machine, the 7,000 kg RNC400 has a robust tailstock located on separate hardened and ground guideway. Quill force is adjustable and the stroke can be programmed. Collision monitoring between the tailstock and turret guarantees safety while a self-centring steady is fixed to the tailstock guideway for additional support. The high rigidity resists cutting loads of approximately 10,000 N/micron and enhances surface finish considerably.
All Monforts machines have a maintenance and wear-free longitudinal hydrostatic guiding system. Free of any frictional contact independent of traverse rate, the RNC400 guarantees that even increments of 0.001mm are traversed without any stick-slip.
