Metrology Direct has expanded its sales and service operation throughout the UK and Ireland by acquiring Etamic UK.
Effective from 1 June, Metrology Direct acquired 100 per cent of the share capital of Etamic UK, based in Coventry. Etamic UK is the UK outlet for Etamic SA, France whose manufacturing centre is based in Bayeux and which manufactures air gauging measuring systems, predominantly for the automotive and automotive supplier industry. Etamic UK also represented Movomatic SA of Pseaux, Switzerland which manufactures in-process gauging system for high precision grinding machines.
Metrology Direct has represented the complete range of Hommelwerke products in the UK and Ireland since January 2000. Hommelwerke, based in Schwenningen, Germany recently acquired Etamic SA and Movomatic SA, and has merged their global manufacturing organisations. It has also changed its global operating name to Hommel-Etamic.
Metrology Direct based in Quedgeley, Gloucester provides a wide range of measuring and testing solutions throughout the UK and Ireland, and the acquisition of Etamic UK enhances its product range and customer base.
Metrology Direct will be merging the sales and service activities together to enhance the provision of systems engineering and customer focused service to both Etamic UK and existing Metrology Direct customers.
