Engineering with a passion 19/05/2007

Holroyd has a history dating back almost 150 years; Jones & Shipman over 100. Both now have a more secure future under new ownership. Holroyd and Jones & Shipman grinding machine activities now reside in a group which is “passionate” about manufacturing, underlined new owner Precision Technologies Group’s (PTG) chief executive, Mark Franckel. The two machine tool makers were acquired in December last year from chain-making specialist Renold plc, Holroyd having been part of the group for 42 years and Jones & Shipman 10. The two employ a combined 260 globally and turnover some £30 million, profitably.
